So Far This Summer

I’ve been off of school for a week now and so far it has been fairly busy.  My friend is getting married in September and this Saturday I am throwing her a bridal shower.  So I’ve been getting things prepped for the event.

I also taught my first two sewing classes.  Amazingly I managed to sleep the night before – though I did wake up to remember that the pieces of the samples I sewed I used the wrong seam allowance.  In the morning I fixed it.  On Tuesday I taught the Pink Chalk Mail Bag.  I had four students attend my class.  We walked through how to mark and sew darts and add in a zipper – everyone managed and they all looked good.  The best part is that everyone finished their bag.

These are three of the four ladies I had – one left right away because she was ill.  They were great ladies to work with.

Last night I taught the Quilted Journal Cover Class.  We managed to get through the placing of our scraps and picking out organza and thread.  Next class we can spend the entire time free motion quilting.

Today my friend Paula and I hit the Costco to purchase some of my party supplies.  We had a great time wandering through.  We then hit the Ikea and picked up cute little containers for some homemade lavender bath salts I made for party favors – I will share that after the shower.

I’ve also been busy working on stitching.  I joined a quilt along with hexies – needed something for camping, am stitching a couple of BOMs.  I’ll share those as I really get going on them.
